The Dutch 4 Day Walk in Nijmegen, Holland.

A Cross is awarded for the Four Day Marches (Dutch: Vierdaagskruis) to participants who successfully completed the Four Days Marches according to rules and regulations. The medal is an official Dutch decoration that can be worn on a Dutch military uniform. It’s fully named “Cross for demonstrated marching skill”, as defined by Royal Decree in 1909. The Four Day Marches Cross can be awarded in bronze, silver or gold, which may have a crown above the cross, together with enamelled arms. These ribbon bears numbers and/or a laurel wreath and number or single or double pearl necklace and number, all depending on the number of times one has completed the marches.

Medals and distances you walk 30, 40 or 50km?

Medals 4 day MarchThere are three different distances 30, 40 and 50km. The tables below show the distances, based on your gender and year of birth. The youngerst participant must be at least 12 years old. The distances marked with R is the minimum distance basis of your age and gender. It is possible to choose a longer distance. The distances marked with an E are other distances for which you may register, but these distances are not compulsory for your age and gender. Once the 4 Days Marches start, you can’t change the distance. However during the 4 Day Walk Nijmegen parks are covered in to places of use. Camping sites and medicare sites are set up in all parks in Nijmegen or rounding. So in the even you have a pet you can’t live without you need to find a Pet Care centre. A easy way to go round it is to Google “Pets Care Nijmegen” to find out the up to date info because from year to year people move around. It is not difficult to find a student how does this kind of work for some extra money.
